The “assignment” is quite simple. There are several exercises included with the program (exercises 1 – 9), shown in the menus at the top of the program gui. You will make a zoom recording of yourself (make sure you set your screen to sharing) doing exercises 1 through 5. 1-5 are easy and just get you familiar with the effects of the parameter controls. Skip 6 and 7. Also “do” exercises 8 and 9.

The goal of 8 and 9 is to see the circle nature of the diffraction pattern(s) based upon the changes you make in the parameters for the exercise. You will not see beautiful whole circles, but you can definitely see a circular pattern if you make an effort. After you are finished you will send me the zoom recording. At this point I am not quite sure how you will send it to me, because they are large (too large for email), and it seems there is a size limit on what students are allowed to load onto canvas. I’ll figure out a work around for this somehow.
