This individual assignment requires you to apply statistical knowledge and skills learned from BEO5539 lectures.

 Please note the following: 

(a) You will undertake ANOVA (Analysis Of VAriance) and Kruskal Wallis test for this assignment.   

(b) Real data must be used for this assignment.  The variables for this individual assignment are identified in Table 1 below.  These variables can be extracted from Orbis database.

(c) In Orbis database, please: - select three developed countries; - select  an industry (same industry across all 3 developed countries); -  avoid selecting data from 2020 because significant amount of the 2020 data is yet to be released through this database.  Missing data must not be included in the analysis and therefore must be deleted from the spreadsheet.  A company must not appear in more than one industry. - note that the listed companies extracted from Orbis database are used to infer about the population of companies in this assignment. 

(d) Your sample sizes will vary according to your choice of country and industries for focus.  If any of the sample size (for any industry) is significantly less than 30, you will have to reselect a different industry or include a related industry to increase the sample size.  Ignoring small sample sizes may result in not being able to answer some of the questions in this assignment (marks will be lost).  No special consideration will be granted for failure to answer questions due to small sample sizes.  Harvest your data early in order to obtain acceptable sample sizes for this assignment.  If you have any issue about the sample sizes, please discuss with your instructor. 

(e) Some of the variables will be transformed or re-coded before the application of a statistical technique. 

(f) Please use SPSS for statistical analysis in this assignment.  Relevant SPSS statistical output must be properly analysed and interpreted.  Industries comparison for the same country is required by the questions.  In the tests of hypotheses, ensure that the p-values are identified in your statistical decision. 

(g) Please provide a number for every table, graph or figure used and make clear reference to the table/graph/figure in your discussion. 

(h) The word limit for this individual assignment is 2,500 words (excluding SPSS output). 

(i) Your individual assignment will be subjected to originality check through Turnitin in VU Collaborate.  This is an individual assignment and plagiarism will not be tolerated.
