Project Proposal Task Description and Rubric

This assessment task consist of writing a proposal for a project which will utilise the principles of behaviour change to achieve a positive outcome in some area of application of your own choosing. The project should not be designed to change the behaviour of an individual however, but should be intended to bring about some larger-scale change at a group or organisational level. This could be, for example, to reduce levels of behavioural problems in a public-sector environment such as a hospital or other business, to improve the academic achievement of children in a particular school, to improve interpersonal relations between staff in a company, or anything else of your choosing. Your choice of problem might relate to a situation you are aware of through personal experience, something you have read about, or anything that you might choose to invent.
The format for your proposal should look like the following:
• Title (15 words)
• Executive Summary (150 words): Briefly describe the problem, your suggested solution, and what the “deliverables” will be.
• Background (350 words): Outline the nature of the problem.
• Methodology (350 words): Describe your proposed intervention.
• Deliverables (150 words): What will be the benefits of this intervention to the organisation, individuals, or other stake-holders. How will it be evaluated?
These word limits are MAXIMA. If your proposal exceeds any individual word limitit will be returned to you for modification and a deduction of 10% will be made from the mark obtained for the resubmission.
You will receive qualitative feedback on a 4-point scale (poor, satisfactory, good, and excellent) regarding each section of the proposal, an overall mark reflecting this feedback, and some general feedback on the quality of your work.
You should include a reference list, but this will not be counted in your word limits, and will not be assessed in any way. We recommend that you adopt the conventions for scientific writing described in the American Psychological Association publication manual, but this will not contribute to the assessment of the project proposal.
Project Proposal Marking Rubric

The project proposal will be assessed in terms of the degree to which your response shows an understanding of the principles of behaviour change and adheres to the methods described in Cooper et al. (2020).
