Consumer Law Assignment:

Alan and Bing continue running their restaurant which they called Peking Duck. As part of the security of the premises, they contracted with Locky to make regular checks on the premises. The contract involved regular after-hours patrols to ensure that the doors, windows and other openings were securely fastened and locked. One night after he had completed his inspections, Locky, who had a key, decided to enter the premises and make himself a cup of coffee. Unfortunately, when he left he accidentally left a back door unlocked. A thief gained access and stole some valuable equipment. Questions: 1) Using the law supported with cases, discuss whether Bing and Alan are correct or not and what the result of this clause means for them. 2) Using the law supported with cases, advise Alan if he can get compensation from the manufacturer. 3) Using the relevant law supported with cases, discuss whether or not they have breached any consumer laws. 4) Using relevant law supported with cases, explain whether Bert has contravened any sections of the Australian Consumer Law and whether he can defend himself if Alan and Bing allege that he has.
