Creative Data Assignment Help

TASK This assessment is in two main parts: 1. Writing an article relating to climate change and the data you are given to visualise. 2. Creating an image that visualises the data. This will be an in-class activity. The Article Your lab director has been contacted by The Sydney Morning Herald for a short article about how climate change has already started to affect Sydney, and Australia. Particularly, they are interested in how the climate is changing as a result of human activity, and what research is going on that can help alleviate human impact on climate and the environment. The editors also asked for some interesting pictures to show climate change effects, but not just bar charts or line graphs. The Image In the week 9 practical (check your timetable for location, we will not be in G08), you will use a software package called “Processing” to visualise data. Processing is an open-source software package that is used to produce engaging graphics with code. It is increasingly used to visualise data in beautiful, complex or surprising ways by people of all backgrounds from the arts to the sciences. Your task before the week 9 practical is to decide what you wish to compare. We will provide you with a set of data and we would like you to formulate a question based on the data, for example: - How has the temperature changed in Sydney over the last century? - Will climate change affect cities more than regional areas? - Are hot days getting hotter in Australia? - Are the tropics drying up? Image Creation You will create an image that visualises the data given to you (worth 8 marks, 4% of total). You will be given access to a dataset before the week 8 masterclass (18th September). You will work through the templates in class in the week 9 practical (3rd October) with help from the demonstrators. Please come to the week 9 practical with a good idea of the data you would like to visualise.
