Aim Your group will be presenting the content produced for your group report including both the primary and secondary tasks:

Primary Tasks

• Civil works – Excavation required, site planning, ground water control, disposal of excavated material, machinery, preliminaries, and environmental controls.

• Foundation and Footing Systems – Soil condition and footing system must be selected based on the building use and quality of soil.

• Wall Systems – The material and process for constructing the walls must selected logically based on the plans and building use.

• Roofing Systems – The details, material and structure of the roof must be selected logically based on the plans and building use.

• Suspended Floor Systems and Stairs – The suspended floor system (slab not on ground) and stairs must be selected and selected logically based on the plans and building use.

• Fit-out – The finishes must be selected based on logic for the areas used in the building.

Secondary Tasks

• Budget – Rawlinson’s Cost Guide must be used to estimate the cost of the building. Cost must be presented, and logic explained.

• Time – A time schedule must be generated using Rawlinson’s time guide based on costs. Possible delays should be considered. A Gantt chart must be created to show scheduled activities.

• Project Delivery Method – Appropriate contract must be selected based on the project details. The selected contract advantages and disadvantages must be explained.

• Specifications – Specification for only Building D and associated Mezzanine office must be outlined. The NATSPEC standard specifications will be used to generate standard specifications for two construction methods.

• Block Model – A CAD or real-life scale model must be created. A description of materials and methods must be explained in the group report.
