Throughout the semester, undertaking managing organizational change, the unit has taught me the ins and outs of industry 4.0 with new waves of technology and the use of internet of things which has now connected the world together. The world is such a data rich place now and for the first-time data is now so valuable to organizations because they can use it to run their operations more efficiently than ever. With this wealth of knowledge, I had gained of industry 4.0, managing organizational change provided me with understanding of key changes that organizations must bring to be able to improve functioning and to compete with opposition because of what industry 4.0 is proposing for the future of work. Change theories like lewin’s three stages or Kotter’s 8 steps are theories which will always remain with me and are also very handy to know about if I am to experience change in the workplace in the future. Although teaching will always contain theory to learn, managing organizational change for me personally was taught very well combining teamwork and theory into one to work through a common goal which was to present change in an organization of our choice. The collaborative task of building a real-life change report and presenting the problems and solutions involved in the world was a great way of really immersing yourself into the subject and actually acting like my team and I were change practitioners. When a subject gets you involved in a task like this it become very interesting and a great way to learn.
