1. Breast Ultrasound – discuss the utility of ultrasound in the differentiation of benign versus malignant breast lesions. Include in your discussion the role of other imaging modalities when appropriate. You may also wish to discuss new and emerging imaging techniques or new and or emerging assessment criteria.

2. Paediatric Appendicitis – discuss the role of ultrasound in the diagnosis of paediatric appendicitis. Include in your review how diagnostic accuracy may be improved. Relate the imaging features to the underlying pathological process and typical clinical presentation. Also critically analyse the case for and against the use of other imaging modalities (in particular CT scanning) when the initial ultrasound findings are equivocal.

3. Thyroid Ultrasound – Thyroid nodule evaluation on ultrasound is a controversial topic. Provide perspective on this controversy, including the role of ultrasound and discus the ultrasound features that can assist in the differentiation between benign and malignant nodules. Discus any new and emerging imaging techniques or new and emerging assessment criteria.

The aim of the literature review is to show that the researcher has studied the existing work relevant to the study with insight. Conclusion and Implications for the future:
• Summarise what is known on the topic, and what is not known.
• Finish with some direction and likely future implications or further research.
