Your assessment for this unit is to develop a project scope plan for a project of your choice. Your assessment has three tasks: one following each topic.

The accommodation manager is the person with the most invested interest in the project. When the project is complete it will allow the accommodation manager to expand their business and provide more services.

As the Project Manager of your specific workplace project, outline your role and responsibilities in relation to project planning.As a project manager you are the one in charge of the overall project. This includes all steps from the initial planning stage through to the final closing stage of the project. A project manager needs to have an overall view of what the projects looks like to ensure they are able to manage the project smoothly, they should gather all the information relevant to the project to be able to determine the objective of the project and a clear understanding of what the deliverables in the project are. The project manager is required to have a high level of attention to detail, understand the importance of the project, the budget, timeframe, execution and deliverables.
 

Assessment 2: Written Task - Define project scope
Create the project scope statement for your specific workplace project, including the following:
overview of the project life cycle Afford is a large non-for-profit organisation that provides accommodation to peoples with disabilities. The accommodation team has identified that Blacktown NSW is an area with high demand for accommodation homes, however Afford does not have sufficient housing to meet the demand.The objective is to provide a purpose modified house to accommodate up to 4 clients to live together with the support of a career. The deadline is to complete the project within a 12-month period. The risks involved in this project potentially not meeting the 12-month deadline is not being able to source a suitable property that can be modified to be fit for purpose, along with external stakeholders such as councils not approving the works required.
The tasks involved in this project is to identify a suitable property suitable for modifications, carry out required due diligence to ensure that the home can be used for the intended purpose, lodge required applications with the relevant council, design the modification works required and engage a builder to complete the works. Each stage of the process should take no more than 3 months to ensure that the property to delivered on time within the 12-month deadline. When the project is finalised the processes and steps taken should be analysed to access whether any changes or other steps can be added/removed moving forward to potentially speed up the process.
