(a) The Fitness Centre referred to in the previous case study which you have completed, or
(b) An organisation of your own choice

Undertake your own comprehensive research to identify the type of business and different legislative requirements to be applied.  Reference professional agents or bodies who could provide assistance to a business in preparing this plan.  Please assume any other additional information you may need.

The Workforce Plan must clearly state and define:
• The name and nature of the business, and demographics of the current workforce
• Strategies to be implemented, to improve the current situation and increase business growth
• Value and the benefits for a comprehensive workforce plan
• Stakeholders and clearly define their roles and responsibilities for engagement for developing the draft plan towards final approval.

The person who has asked you to do this has never seen a workforce plan. Where terms are going to be used, please provide full definitions.
Your workforce plan should be a professional document with all key details and requirements.  It should be in a format which could be presented to the Director of HR. The organisation may wish to promote your document as an ‘example of excellence’ for other centres.

Please refer to, and attach evidence of your research to include:
• Legislative requirements and government policies that will affect your workforce plan
• Changes in technologies that HR must apply, for managing workforce plan
• Unemployment rates in this industry and skills/labour shortages, with strategies to improve this (refer to the ABS, or industry or professional associations for current data)
• Levels of risks identified if the workforce plan is not implemented.  Present this within an assessment matrix

Use headings that are relevant, and refer to templates, tools or charts where appropriate.  For each heading, discuss and demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of the plan.  Reflect on what you have learned.  Refer to risks and costs for such a plan to succeed.  Finally:

(iii) Conclusion (or recommendations). Use an appropriate heading and then state actions which could be taken to ensure efficient and effective implementation of the plan.

The document is to contain a minimum of 1,500 words in total. Any attachments should not be included in the word count.
