Using the simulated business information provided, you are required to identify the organisation’s HR requirements. 

You will need to conduct your own research and analyse information from a range of internal and external sources to determine emerging practices and trends, new technology, and legislation that may impact on human resource management in the organisation, as well as future labour needs and options for sourcing labour supply.

You are also required to consult with the Managing Director regarding the strategic direction of HR. The consultation role-play may be conducted over the phone, web conference (e.g. Skype), or face-to-face.

You are the newly appointed HR Manager at JKL Industries. You will be responsible for setting the direction of the HR department and ensuring that the HR department contributes to the organisation’s success.

During a brief chat with the Managing Director, Wallace Green, he mentions that while the organisation has been trying to grow, they’ve been having issues with attracting the right staff quickly, and when they do, there tend to lose the employees within their first three months of employment. 

You also know from your discussions with the HR Business Partners, that there is currently no standard recruitment across the organisation. Consequently, new managers do not have the necessary skills or knowledge to attract and select the best candidates possible, employees do not always receive a contract prior to commencing work at JKL Industries, there is no onboarding process.

Project Task 2: Develop a human resource strategic plan

In this assessment task, you will need to demonstrate the ability to develop a human resource strategic plan.

Description:

This is a continuation of Project Task 1. Using your research findings and meeting outcomes from Project Task 1, you will need to prepare a human resource strategic plan and risk management plan for approval by senior management. 

You will also be required to consult with relevant stakeholders to discuss the HR strategic plan.
