Assessment Event 1 – Knowledge Questions
The information contained in this section lists the questions that you will need to develop a written response. These questions are theoretical and provide evidence of your understanding of the principles and practices with communicating with influence. Note you must answer these questions in your own words. Assessment Event 2: We Love Toys Simulation
In this assessment, you will undertake several tasks associated with developing a persuasive argument for seeking out new opportunities for the Toy Shop. The current business is under significant competition with a new mega outlet in the development phase. You will meet with the Owner of the Toy Shop to influence them to take on a new business model. From this meeting, you are given the mandate to persuade other potential business Owners to take up this new business opportunity.
Task 1: Prepare to Communicate for a Meeting
In this task, you will prepare to hold a meeting with the Shop Owner. This will involve reviewing the simulation background and researching key data and information associated with online shopping, the consumers’ needs for a retail experience, and the current economic situation impacting on consumers.

Task 2: Participate in and Lead a Meeting Effectively
In this task, you will use the preparation conducted in Task 1 to hold and lead a meeting with the owner of the toy shop. In this meeting, you must demonstrate meeting skills that align with the protocols of the shop. Also, you must take an active role in influencing the Shop Owner to agree with a strategy for a new business model.
2.1 Achieve agreed outcomes through cooperation and consensus
Chair a meeting with your Shop Owner where your Assessor will observe you and record findings in the Observation Check Sheet 1 located in Appendix B of your Student Assessment Guide.
