This assessment task is designed to test your skills in facilitating continuous improvement as required by the unit BSBMGT516 Facilitate continuous improvement. Your trainer/assessor will be assessing your work and provide you with constructive feedback on Canvas.
This task will assess your skills to:
Lead continuous improvement systems and processes
Monitor and adjust performance strategies
Manage opportunities for further improvement.
By successfully completing this project you will provide the required performance evidence of your competence in facilitating continuous improvement.
What are you required to do to undertake this task?
You should carefully read the provided scenarios; choose one of the scenarios and complete all the questions. The task includes: (i) Analysing the case (ii) Undertaking required research (iii) and Reporting. No Role Play or Presentation is required for this assessment task.
To successfully undertake this assessment, you should be doing the following:
Read the provided Case Study couple of times and understand its requirements
Clarify the requirements with your trainer and assessor, if you are not sure
Research appropriate websites as directed by your trainer/assessor
Discuss with your trainer/assessor the contents of the report if needed.
Context and conditions of undertaking the tasks?
The prescribed tasks will be undertaken by you after carefully analysing the case scenarios. Your trainer will also provide you guidance on the websites to be researched. Your trainer/assessor may also set certain conditions under which you will perform the tasks required by this assessment. For example, your trainer may set a time limit to perform a task or, ask you to repeat a task or, ask you to give additional information about the performance by asking you some verbal questions or, they may prescribe you some new conditions to undertake certain tasks.

This is a written assessment task that requires you to develop strategies to support a continuous improvement culture in the organisation.
Choose one of the scenarios and topics below and complete all the questions.
Scenario A: You are a project manager that has been hired by company ABC to lead and manage a continuous improvement project in the customer service area of the business. The level of complaints from customers is increasing, there is a high turnover of staff, the technology in the customer service area is inadequate to serve the increased number of clients and the customer base has now grown to encompass clients from different cultural background. Your project team comprises of the 4 customer officers working in the customer service department and their team leader, none of them has worked in the company longer than 6 months.
Scenario B: You are the manager of the administration department in a small manufacturing company that is fast growing. Your team performs different tasks such as accounting (including payroll), liaison with suppliers and clients to resolve complaints, HR tasks such as recruitment and employee relationship management and any other administrative tasks that other departments (logistics, manufacturing operations, and marketing) cannot perform due to the increased workload. Your team comprises of 5 administrators who are overworked, stressed and demotivated. They have been with the company since day one and, although they constantly complain about the work, they are averse to change and improvement.
Develop a strategy to encourage team members to participate in decision making processes, assume responsibilities and take initiative for resolving the issues outlined in the scenario. In your strategy, include:
