You are required to provide a Project Scope Management Plan for a current workplace project or one that you have recently worked on within the past two years. Your selected project must be agreed between you and your trainer/assessor so that its methodology, tools and techniques conform to the performance requirements of each unit. If you refer to a previously completed project, you must ensure that you were able to incorporate project management methodology covered in this unit. You can use the same project for all units in this course, although if your selected project changes during the course or if you cannot meet to the performance requirements of any of the assessments, you must contact your trainer/assessor to find out what you need to do to continue to satisfy the course performance requirements and achieve competency.
SCENARIO A – Highway Lights and Co.
VicRoads, who is your major stakeholder, has requested that the finish time for the project to be brought forward by one month. They have also mentioned that their accountant has crunched the numbers and that due to government budget cuts, they only have $1.7 million to spend as opposed to the initial 1.8 million that was agreed upon. Your Manager sees VicRoads as a lucrative client with the potential for more projects in the future and has agreed to adjust the project to meet with their requests.
SCENARIO B – Crafty Clothes Pty Ltd.
Your managing director has requested that the finish time for the project to be brought forward by two weeks. She have also mentioned that the accountant has crunched the numbers and that due to a decrease in sales, they only have $22,000 to spend as opposed to the initial $25,000 that was agreed upon. Your understand the reasoning behind this and have agreed to adjust the project to meet with her requirements.
