You are working as the Operations Manager at Grow Management Consultants (GMC). At a recent meeting, the management approved the proposal to have a workplace sustainability policy and procedure. The management has assigned the responsibility of developing, implementing and reviewing the sustainability policy to you. In this assessment task, you will conduct research and analysis, and prepare a briefing report to guide the development of a workplace sustainability policy and procedure. You
will then consult with the management of GMC at a meeting to discuss the briefing report and to seek input to the development of the policy and procedure. Following the meeting, you will develop a sustainability policy and procedure document, as well as an action plan. Carefully read the Grow Management Consultants Case Study (Appendix 1).
Complete the following four (4) tasks.
Develop a briefing report (using Appendix 2)
Review the case study information provided and conduct research using the Internet or any other source of information to identify the following:
1. Relevant environmental and sustainability legislation, regulations and codes of practice
2. Sources of information on sustainability, including incorporating sustainability into business planning and using it as an opportunity to identify new business initiatives.
3. Sustainability policies and procedures developed by other organisations
4. Life cycle mapping processes.
