Assignment Task

1. Research the internal business context

Firstly, you will need read the provided brief and identify what information is existing and what is needed to be researched.

You will then need to conduct your own research to access relevant industry reports and materials. Examples of relevant materials have been made via Blackboard as guidance. From your research you will need to determine:

• The business ownership and structure
• The  industry and core product/service
• The  customer profile
• The  competitor profile
• An internal SWOT analysis

2. Research the external business context

Access relevant industry reports and materials available via Blackboard in order to Identify the environmental factors affecting the industry and business in order to complete a PESTLE Analysis: Political, economic, social, technological, legal and environmental factors.

3. Develop recommendations for the business

Provide two (2) recommendations as to the uncertainties that could affect the business in the next 5 years. Justify why they are important. This is not to solve the business challenge, but to provide a direction of where further investigations can be made.

4. Prepare your report

Prepare a report, linked to the brief, with numbered headings in the following structure:

Coverpage - as per (Canvas?) instructions

Introduction - context, purpose, scope and limitations

Internal business context

• Business ownership and organisational structure
• Industry and core product/services – product lines, industry trends
• Customer profile – demographics
• Competitor profile – identify the key direct competitors, identify how they compare with the client, include comparison/analysis (e.g. competitor map, comparative table or graph)
• SWOT analysis – at least 5 points per area, with appropriate citation, inserted in the text as a table; accompanied by paragraph identifying key areas of interest across the SWOT
