This report should describe the data that is needed to support the automobile service and related functions at Stellar Automobiles Inc.  This is to be presented in the form of an enterprise-wide data model (using the E-R diagramming technique).  The report should include the following: 

Conceptual data model
This section covers the data used or needed for all aspects of the automobile service and related functions at Stellar Automobiles Inc. The model is to be presented in graphical format, as an Entity-Relationship diagram.  The diagram should specify entities, associative entities, and relationships (including multiplicities).  Attributes for each entity need to be included, with key attribute(s) identified.  Your data model may include subclasses, if appropriate. 
You may choose to model the entire enterprise with a single model, or if this poses a problem (in terms of complexity), you could break it up into a set of related subject areas that support different functions.  In case you use the subject area approach, entity-relationship diagrams are to be assembled for each subject area.  These need to be consolidated into a single enterprise model. Remember to use reasonable names for the entities, attributes, and relationships. 
This section is to be assembled using an appropriate CASE tool.  You may use Microsoft Visio or a similar functioned CASE tool.  Bear in mind that Visio does not support the precise notation employed in the text.  However, the UML Class Diagram option under Software and Database category is relatively close and is the preferred option.  In case you decide to use the subject area approach, then you must reuse entities if they are common across diagrams.  When creating the enterprise data model, you must include all entities from all diagrams, all their attributes, as well as all relationships.  
 
Assumptions 
This section covers the assumptions that you have made in assembling the data model.  Include this before the data model, so that I can better understand the thinking that went into the creation of the data model.  These assumptions should cover  ? the Scope of the enterprise.  This represents what is included or excluded from the enterprise functioning.  Bear in mind that the data needed to support these functions will shape the conceptual data model.  You need to be reasonable in defining the scope ? too wide a scope leads to unnecessary work, while a narrowly defined scope does not support all business processes. ? Data that constitutes part of the system.  Depending upon what you see the scope of the system to be, different data may need to be included and stored. ? Need for permanent versus transient storage.  Data that is used only temporarily and not required for transaction processing may be eliminated if appropriate.  If you believe this is necessary for future reference, then it should be modelled.  Otherwise, it need not show up on the diagram. ? Repeating groups.  In some cases, data may be construed to involve repeating groups, which may require the creation of a separate entity. ? Relationship multiplicities.  You need to document only those multiplicities that are open to interpretation and not all multiplicities.  All multiplicities must appear on the diagram, though.
