Task As part of the assessment 1 start-up event sessions, you were introduced to the Lean Canvas framework and had the opportunity to develop a start-up project that focussed on at least one of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SGDs). While assignment 1 was a groupwork assignment, assessment 2 now is an individual assignment. The skills you gained during the start-up weekend event or the alternative event sessions, are transferable, and for assignment 2, everyone has the opportunity to demonstrate what they have learned. Assignment 2, and the feedback you receive, will provide the basis for the business plan development in assignment 3. For assignment 2, you are required to identify and develop a new entrepreneurial opportunity in the marketplace that is contributing to at least one of the SDGs. Please note, as all written assessments in this unit have to be completed individually, you cannot use your team’s start-up idea from assignment 1 but have to develop a different, new start-up project as previously communicated. For this new start-up idea, you should go through the same processes as you did during the event sessions and will also be using the Lean Canvas. Furthermore, you will also need to engage in research for relevant data and information to support your start-up development and discussion. The entrepreneurial opportunity (start-up) can be for a new or innovative product or service, for a for-profit or not-for-profit enterprise. First, you will need to identify a specific problem based on one or more SDGs that interests you, and research trends and issues related to this. You can base your start-up idea on an existing idea; however, you have to make sufficient changes or improvements! Just copying and describing what someone else did, will not be acknowledged with a good mark. You also have to keep in mind, that you need to develop a business plan for the same start-up in your final assignment in this unit. Therefore, focus on something small and manageable, that contributes to a specific problem in Darwin or other parts of Australia
