This BBC news article is now causing significant global controversy and has reignited the urgent demands by Australia, the United States and others to immediately cancel the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. Several FIFA members are now threatening to boycott the 2022 FIFA World Cup and are refusing to send their national qualifying teams to Qatar.

The State of Qatar has responded to the allegations with heated claims of corruption and male fides (bad faith) by Australia and the United States and is threatening legal action against them, FIFA and others.

This exploding scandal now threatens to do serious, permanent and irreparable damage to the reputation and corporate finances of the State of Qatar and FIFA, generally.
