Assignment Task: Product Management One of the growing areas of opportunity for those with BA skills is Product Management. These growth opportunities extend beyond software products. ABA brings discipline and data to the decision of which products to bring to market. Consequently, Product Management is the focus of the Class Project. The main deliverable of the Class Project is a Power-Point presentation you will create with the goal of recommending a new product to an Organization's executives. An important component of your presentation is to convince executives that you understand the needs that the organization's existing products meet. You need to provide a recommendation together with a brief summary statement of costs and benefits and the three key actions needed to implement the new product. This is not a conventional BRD but has many of the same components.

  • Metrics and KPIs for the company and how current products contribute to performance

3.2 Future Stae: Demonstrate the needs that the recommended product will meet 

• • Process Model for customer process showing opportunities for providing a useful product where product company is not currently providing one
  • Use case of the customer achieving a goal through the new product
  • Acceptance and Evaluation Criteria for the requirements satisfied by the new product
  • Metrics and KPIs proposed for tracking the success of the new product
  • Functional Decomposition of the best new product idea showing its functionality
  • Traceability Matrix of the needs and requirements of the customer and identifying which needs are met by current products and which by the new product

3.3 Brief summary chart of Costs and Benefits (quantitative)1 slide

• You are not required to use BA techniques for this section, but feel free to do so
• Summary Table should have a total $ amount for Costs and a total $ amount for Benefits
• You can also list qualitative in addition to the Table

3.4 Three key actions needed to implement the new product (1 slide for each) Three Key Actions to implement the new product should be specific to your product. Do not provide general BA or PM or development actions that need to be done for any new product. You must use a minimum of 4 BA techniques from the course for the entire project. At least one of these BA Techniques from the course must be used for the Current State.
