Description

This is an individual assignment. It focuses on materials presented up to and including Week 3. This assessment task requires you to create a data-driven, fact-based solution. To complete the assignment, you need to:

a) Visualise the data set, and

b) Create an interactive dashboard.

Your response is to be presented in the Excel file which you are required to submit. Only the “Dashboard” worksheet will be marked. The Excel file which has been provided has different worksheets explaining and containing the DreamCruise data-set.

For confidentiality reasons actual data has not been used in the assessment task. Following is an introduction to this scenario and detailed guidelines.

Context/Scenario: DreamCruise Passenger Analysis

DreamCruise1 is an established holiday company that specializes in providing leisure cruises from various ports in Australia to islands in the South Pacific. Before the Covid-19 pandemic, DreamCruise was a thriving business with a loyal customer base. However, like many other companies in the tourism industry, DreamCruise was severely impacted by the pandemic and had to suspend its operations.

 As the world enters the post-Covid era, DreamCruise is now exploring ways to relaunch itself and rebuild its business. To this end, the company's Board has tasked the CEO, Wei Chen, with preparing an interactive dashboard. The dashboard should provide an in-depth and interactive visualization of the passengers who have previously traveled with DreamCruise. This dashboard should cover a range of variables, such as age, gender, types of travelling groups (solo, double, group, family), spending patterns, and satisfaction ratings.

Wei Chen has reached out to the Director of Analytics, Maria Rodriguez, seeking assistance to respond to the Board. Maria Rodriguez has delegated the task to you. You must prepare the interactive dashboard that will help Wei Chen to monitor DreamCruise’s passenger profile and priority areas of maximising revenue and maximising client satisfaction.

Please produce an Interactive Dashboard which Maria can pass on the Wei Chen and the Board to help them understand and visualise key data and allow them to drill-down into the data. Please try and include the whole data set in your dashboard. I will leave specific design details to you.
