To help your organisation better utilise business analytics, it is time to conduct some research into the relevant industry practices and develop a plan to assist your organisation in optimising its business analytics. Make the business case for advancing the business analytics capability in your organisation and provide recommendations for improved business analytics by writing a report and presenting some of your findings in an oral presentation.

Part A

In Assessment 1, you focussed on the business analytics techniques currently being used by your chosen case organisation for the three decision problems. In this assessment:

• For each of the three decision problems, identify and discuss one new business analytics technique (either predictive or prescriptive) used by other organisations in your industry (but not currently being used in your case organisation).

• Justify how the adoption of these new techniques by your case organisation can help it resolve the three identified decision problems. Support your arguments with evidence.

• Discuss what metrics are required for the new business analytics techniques you have identified. Analyse the data requirements for business analytics within the scope of the three decision problems.
