This has been the case throughout history, but it has probably become a more common and necessary desire as the world has become more complex. In fact, complexity and rapid change strengthen the need and desire to gain more knowledge about the future – about those things and patterns shaping the future in both a positive and negative way.

Learning Outcomes
After completion of the module the student will be able to:
 Demonstrate the ability to apply the key concepts of futures studies to business and societal issues;  Appreciate the range of tools used in futures thinking (with a special emphasis on scenario planning);  Evaluate the external environment (Political, Social and Technological) as a source of change drivers;  Position futures studies in the field of strategic management;

5.1 General
The course is structured based on the learning outcomes and all assessments will test the mastery of the learning outcomes listed.
