After reviewing your new product proposal, the senior management of Edgewell feels that your new product has the potential to be marketed internationally and want you to seriously consider one foreign country for potential international expansion of your product. In this team assignment, research a foreign country that you propose and select (see the country proposal and selection process below) and identify its key opportunities, threats and risk premium as well as its fits with your product and Edgewell.

Country Proposal and Selection

The country you propose and select for your research must be from the following: Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Mexico, South Korea, Philippines, Turkey and Vietnam. No more than two teams may use the same country for this assignment. Each team needs to initially propose two countries (first and second picks) by Oct 23 (11pm). We will review your country proposals based on the suitability of a proposed country to your product. In case more than two teams initially propose the same country, the final selection will be determined based on how well your product suits the proposed country and when you initially propose.

Research Requirements

Your country research should cover the following key aspects of a country’s business environment:

1) Each sector of the macro (PESTEL) environment (including the demographics). Although you need to find both quantitative and qualitative information, use indices, rankings and other quantitative information whenever possible.
