Report Writing Assignment:

Task: Present the final report of the Professional Project I proposed in Assignment 1 (bellow you can find information about Ass1) and produce a professional research report that shows that you have followed through from finding a research question to answering that question and developing recommendations that arise from your findings. The report will follow the typical structure of a research report and will need to include the following: Research management Topic:Factors affecting skills shortage and deficiencies in business performance in the mining sector in Australia

• Project title
• Introduction (which must include some justification of your topic and your project's aim and research question(s))
• Critical literature review
• A detailed presentation of how you carried out your project (commensurate with a 'Methods' chapter) (I attached a Ppt of the methods chapter)
• Findings from your secondary data analysis
• Discussion of findings in light of your previously reviewed literature
• Conclusion, including recommendations and limitations

Assessment 1 (previous assessment)(YOU DONT HAVE TO DO THIS ONE, IS OLNY A REFERENCE) I did a first assessment where I had to do the research proposal (I attached the copy of my first assessment). Unfortunately I had a low grade in this assessment because I did not meet the assessmentcriteria. In the attached copy you can find some comments that the lecturer made of the things that I should improve. This first assessment is a reference for the current assessment that I must deliver, however it must be improved. If it is necessary to change the whole focus, you can do it, at least keep the subject and secondary data. Project Title:Factors affecting skills shortage and deficiencies in business performance in the mining sector in Australia What I did in the first assessment was:

1. A statement detailing your ‘field of research’ - in this, you must clearly explain the relevance of your field of research for the profession, towards which you are studying. (my profession is management, so I linked with the management practices)

2. A source of secondary data linked to your chosen field of research.(I have attached a copy of this secondary data, but anyway if you need to seek for the source you can find it at:

• Australian Bureau of Statistics website -> Statistics -> Economy -> Business Indicators -> Management and Organisational Capabilities of Australian Business -> Data cubes -> skills -> Excel document ->table 2 ->factors affecting skills shortage and deficiencies in undertaking core business activities -> mining industry

The lecturer recommended me to choose only one type of industry otherwise it was too board. That's why I focused only on mining sector.

3. A focused research aim,A research question or questions that can be answered with the secondary data set you identified; this requires clarity on the questions and possibly a more detailed definition of variables or key themes to be explored.
4. A short, preliminary literature review that places your project within the context of your profession;
5. A research plan, including: an overview of your proposed methods of data collection and data analysis; Gantt chart schedule; and clear presentation of data sources.
