Assessment 2 is based on a real Australian start-up “Fable Food”. Fable Food was founded in 2019 and is currently based in Sydney. The company operates in the FoodTech market and creates meat-free alternatives for a variety of meat products using shiitake mushrooms. These products taste just like the real thing, without the environmental impact. The business has gone through a number of funding rounds since being founded, with the most recent being an $8.5 Million Series A round that took place in February 2023.

In this assessment, you are required to conduct thorough online research about the company and answer the following questions with the help of both factual data you find about the company and academic research in the area of entrepreneurship.

The questions are based on some of the key concepts you have learned in this course, and in this assessment, you apply those concepts to evaluate and discuss Fable Food’s entrepreneurial actions and their social and market impact.

6. Comment on the social impact that Fable Food is creating for the community. Discuss with the help of research in the area of corporate social responsibility the key effects that their social impact may have on their economic performance.
