o GCS 11 (E2, V4, M5)

Management includes:

o 15 L/min via a non-rebreather mask
o IV normal saline stat
o IV insulin titrated to BGL
o IV 5% dextrose
o IDC
o CXR
o Blood pathology, specifically K+

Arterial blood gas results:
  First ABG ABG after 30minutes
pH 7.2 7.25
PaO 2 70mmHg 90mmHg
PaCO 2 30mmHg 34mmHg
HCO 3 - 16mmmol/L 18mmol/L
Base excess -5 -4
Sam was slow to respond and transferred to the intensive care unit.
