Overview
Now that the cover design for your magazine publication has been developed, the task now is to create the recurring page templates for your magazine design. These recurring page templates will be used for the current edition and for future editions of this publication. It is not envisaged that the layout for the recurring pages will change from edition to edition. The publication is to be monthly, with 12 editions per year. The recurring pages include:
• Editor’s Letter page
• Imprint & Contributors page
• Contents page

Instructions:
You are required to create your page template design solution using Adobe InDesign.
1. Conduct research on grid layout for magazine production.
2. Sketch out your ideas in thumbnail roughs. Pay attention to column layout, hierarchy and use of the grid.
3. Review different font options and their size and placement for article headings.
4. Set up the document for your page template design in Adobe InDesign as per the specifications.
5. Ensure image resolution is correct output for specific target platforms (print or digital).
6. Once finalised, ‘package’ the InDesign files, including any image links and fonts.
7. Export the InDesign file to PDF for print and digital output as per the specifications.
8. Compress (ZIP.) Place in one folder: the PDF of your Process Journal, packaged InDesign folders for the 3 x template pages, print output PDF and digital output PDF of the template pages and compress (ZIP) the folder and submit for marking and feedback by the due date.
9. Be sure to name your file appropriately: StudentNumber_YourName_Type2_A3.zip.
