Explain to the candidate that the purpose of the Placement Assessment is to gather information about the candidate’s skill level to place the candidate at the right level and also help to determine their training and assessment needs.

Encourage the candidate to feel comfortable and ask questions at any time. Please make sure that the candidate understands the activities before commencing.
 

Oral Communication – (Speaking and Listening) activities will require the candidate to listen to questions asked by the assessor and be involved with the assessor in a conversation about each question. In addition, the candidate will also be required to undertake a self-reflection activity and discuss this with their assessor.
 

Reading and Writing activities will require a candidate to evaluate and integrate information and ideas, by selecting and applying a range of reading strategies, communicating ideas and information in an appropriate style as well as selecting appropriate vocabulary, grammatical structures related to the ACSF Level 3 Reading and Writing skills.
