The selected challenge is the one you chose and refined in Assessment Task 2. Adolescence has been described as a unique period of development, what makes adolescent development unique and how has the selected challenge changed for adolescents over time (e.g., past forty years). Based on interviews, relevant theories,
current research, and government/educational policies, discuss the challenge faced by 21st century adolescents. Describe how this challenge will inform your educational strategies and classroom practice, so as to provide effective educational experiences for the adolescents that you teach. The report is divided into four sections (use these headings in your report):

Section One – This section is an introduction that explains adolescence as being a unique period of development and the challenges they face in the 21st century. The
selected challenge is also introduced with links to relevant theory/research to support statements/arguments/reasons related to the specific challenge that has been selected. By the end of this section you need to outline your specific challenge.

Section Two – The interviews that have been conducted are used in this section to analyse the changes over time (pre and post 2000) for the selected challenge (e.g.,
adolescence in the 1970s compared to adolescence today in relation to physical health). Although this section is based on interviews, generalisations need to be supported with relevant literature. It is essential that quotes from the interviews are used to support the issues and points raised in relation to the challenge selected.

Section Three – This section focuses on the selected challenge faced by 21st century adolescents (i.e., post 2000). The challenge needs to be examined in relation to relevant theories, current research, and government/educational policies. In addition to peerreviewed journal articles, you may look to other resources as well including relevant websites (e.g., Beyond Blue), policy documents (Department of Education Social Media policy) and/or professional articles (e.g., Teacher Magazine)
