Not everyone gets the chance to realise their aspirations or dreams within the professional community, locally and globally. Critics often relate this to individual failures and inability to concentrate or commitment to the aspirations. Surprisingly, there are other underlying factors that have the potential to impact the individual's ability to realise their aspirations within their professional community both within local and global perspectives such as environmental factors (Sood, 2010). Additionally, individuals must have the ability to understand the dignity of other human beings in the context of the global community in order to achieve the common good. Globally, there has been significant progress in expanding learning opportunities for all since education serves as the transformative force that promotes human beings rights and dignity as well as the ability to realise their aspirations (Bradstock, 2013). Besides, education presents the basis for learning and appreciating diversity and international solidarity which the is also essential for the achievement of individual aspiration from the global perspective. There exist different challenges in realising aspirations of the common good in the individual professional community, locally and globally which can result from internal and external aspects. The increasing global developments in different aspects such as technology and economy creates the need to have aspirations that are based on the common good of the people. Different institutions have also demonstrated interests in helping individuals or professionals in the realisation of a more just global community such as public education institutions, private and not-for-profit agencies as well as faith-based groups. The organisations are based on the common good of the community both locally and internationally (Bradstock, 2013). So what is the role of realising aspirations in the professional community? Questions: 1. Describe how the efforts of public, private, not-for-profit agencies, faith-based groups and you as a professional, can result in the realisation of a more just global community. 2. Critically analyse the challenges with realising aspirations of the common good in your professional community, locally and globally. 3. Critique a global issue where shared responsibility for the common good is not being realised, and propose ways to address this challenge
