This unit describes the application of knowledge of the broad social and cultural context in which work is planned and implemented in the community services industry. It applies to workers who seek to better understand their client groups and the issues impacting their lives.

This assessment will be conducted in the CAC classroom, a simulated workplace, or an actual designated workplace.

To achieve competency, students must receive a Satisfactory (S) result in all tasks.
Any Not Satisfactory (NS) result leads to Not Yet Competent (NYC). Students get up to three attempts with coaching and support as required.
CAC treats plagiarism and cheating as serious misconduct. Outcomes may include exclusion or reassessment.
Students may appeal an assessment decision. The assessor may re-assess if required.
Assessors must ensure the student is ready before assessment. They must not teach during assessment.
Feedback must be provided at completion.
If safety is compromised, assessment must stop immediately.
