This unit describes the application of knowledge of the broad social and cultural context in which work is planned and implemented in the community services industry. It applies to workers who seek to better understand their client groups and the issues impacting their lives.

Assessment Conditions

Skills must be demonstrated in the workplace. Simulations and scenarios may be used where real-world situations cannot be safely or practically replicated.

Assessors must satisfy the RTO Standards (2015) competency requirements.

CHCDIV003: Manage and promote diversity

 

Unit Summary

This unit covers the skills and knowledge needed to evaluate and promote diversity in the workplace and contribute to diversity policies.

Assessment Conditions

Skills must be demonstrated in a workplace or simulated environment with realistic conditions, including interaction with diverse individuals.

CHCCOM003: Develop workplace communication strategies

 

Unit Summary

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to develop communication protocols for a team or business unit.

Assessment Conditions

Skills must be demonstrated using workplace policies, reporting processes, presentations to groups, and communication media.

Assessment Venue

This assessment will be conducted in the CAC classroom, a simulated workplace, or an actual designated workplace.

 

Specific Resources Required

  • Computer with internet and email access

  • MS Word and Adobe Acrobat Reader

  • Three volunteers with email access

Assessment Rules

To achieve competency, students must receive a Satisfactory (S) result in all tasks.
Any Not Satisfactory (NS) result leads to Not Yet Competent (NYC). Students get up to three attempts with coaching and support as required.

Complaints and Appeals

Students may appeal an assessment decision. The assessor may re-assess if required.

Assessors Intervention

If safety is compromised, assessment must stop immediately.
