1. Taking into account the wide range of approaches available for undertaking observations and gathering information about children's learning, identify three children within your care that you intend to observe and on whom you will gather information over a period of time and in a variety of spaces.

You might wish to consider children who may need additional support in order to achieve particular learning outcomes.

For each child you identify, state:

• Their age
• The amount of hours per week they are in your care
• The activities you undertake with them. (Use child name as X and Y)

2.For each child document the following:

• The time frame over which you intend to observe them and gather information
• The different settings in which you will observe them and from which you will gather information
• Methods of observation and information gathering.

3.Carry out the observations and information gathering you have documented for these three children and keep the records.

4. Outline three different ways that you could demonstrate inclusive assessment practices.

5. Identify a child in your care that requires reasonable adjustments or alternative assessment methods/procedures. Explain their individual needs and how you make your assessments accessible to them. Give an example of an assessment you have set for this child, annotating the differences.

6. Based on the children that you undertook observations and gathered extensive information about in your care, collate and analyse this information to determine at least two strengths, interests, relationships and learning history/needs of each child.
