Task: 2  Part 1 Imagine that you are working with a self-help group of mothers who have experienced post-partum depression and who organise information sessions about post-partum depression that are delivered to expectant mothers. Your group has been meeting in the local library seminar rooms and has no office from which to undertake administrative tasks. You have been told by the manager of the local neighbourhood house that a small office and meeting room will become available to a community group that applies for its regular use.   Before you can access these resources, you are required to write a formal submission (2500 words) to a committee of management of the community service organisation, presenting an argument as to why your group is needed. Write a submission which addresses the following:

• The aim and objectives of the post-partum group
• Describe the activities implementation plan of the group
• The processes and techniques for management of the group
• The human, financial and physical resources that are already available as well as any additional resource your group requires

1. a) Describe how you intend to evaluate the group’s activities by writing a survey with no less than 8 questions. The design of these 8 questions is to seek feedback from the groups on leadership style, group process, achievement of objectives, other achievements and areas for development.
2. b) Describe two strategies that you will apply to ensure that participants of the group will be offered sufficient support within the group; including opportunities to all participants for debriefing, support, mediation, consultation and facilitation.

The young mothers would like to participate in education events about health and parenting issues. They also want to organise recreational outings both with and without their children. Using the table below, in your own words  fill in what you think are the needs and purpose of the group they requested Activity 4 Write 300 words on how the values and beliefs of yourself as a community service worker and the clients within your group can impact upon the group operations. Discuss how this might cause conflict and what strategies you could put in place to prevent this conflict Activity 5 A strategy is a plan chosen to bring about a desired future, such as achievement of a goal or solution to a problem. A strategy is also the art and science of planning and organising resources for their most efficient and effective use in order to achieve the desired goal. A strategic plan is a broadly-defined plan aimed at creating a desired future. From the information you developed in Activity 4, write a basic strategy (500 words minimum) on how you will assist the young mothers group to achieve their goals.
