INTRODUCTION Curriculum are formed to support children knowledge and learning processes. In an early childcare setting all stake holders must work together in partnership to form or influence what the curriculum will be made up of. The Early Years Learning Frame Work in Australia acts as  a guide for educators working in early childhood education and care settings from birth to 5 ( DEEWR,2009). The Early years learning frame work informs educator on how to plan and implement . ”. Early years learning framework acts as a guide for each Australian state / territory. The Early years learning framework comprises of the learning outcomes , early childhood pedagogy , principles , practices and how to apply and structure them into children teachings and learnings (DEEWR,2009). This essay will first discuss the similarities and differences between Australia state and territory curriculum documents, following this, the range of methodologies and approaches to documentation , planning and assessment based on the Australian National curriculum in Early years learning framework will further be discussed. Methodologies and approaches varies in every Early child care because , every centres have their approaches in formulating the curriculum, methodologies and approaches are formulated based on each centres, teachers and educators philosophy, family beliefs and values ,government and educational policy . Each one of the methodologies and approaches must use the eylf and the anc as a guide in formulating a curriculum. Basically Educators uses different approaches in the early years learning framework to scaffold on children learning experiences , however they are a lot of approaches which educators reflect, select and review on in setting out the curriculum. The child led approach the educator takes the child’s interest in a particular activity , proficiency,gift and skill , into consideration in setting out the curriculum underpinning the eylf , the educator is responsive to children’s talent, competence,hobby,interestedness,passion, and what they major in , through that the educator is able to train , and specialise in children’s learning abilities .educators also acknowledge children family up bringing,culture and their spoken language ( mothers tongue ) particularly the Australian Natives ( Aboriginal and the Torres Islander ) and other non - Australian /English tribes and coping strategies used by children with additional needs to connect with their everyday life. Educators also observe and are at alert to children’s performance, play which is one of the most significant aspect in setting out a curriculum, through observe children’s play and interestedness and competence educators will extend of children’s interest by asking open ended question in other to challenge children cognitive skills and through that educate gets feed back on what they need to adjust or extend on through spontaneous teaching strategies to scaffold on children’s learning . Another approach used by early childhood educators are intentional teaching as opposed to the child led approach, in this approach the educator dictates on what and how the child will learn this approach can also be termed as the Adult Centred Approach, in this approach educators knowledge are transmitted to children rather than focusing on children’s interests, skills and learning capabilities mean while they focus on challenging children problem solving skills , the educators also use open questioning, modelling ,demonstrating ,explaining to extend on Children learning interest and getting the required feed back in return for proper documentation of children learning and what ways or strategies that they can improve upon, however this approach does not children’s culture , personal up bringing into consideration. The Holistic Integrated approach is totally different from the child led approach or the Adult led approach , in This approach educators teach children on a broader learning curriculum to elongate and prolong on children’s knowledge . “Holistic approach to teaching and learning recognise the connectedness of mind,body and spirit” ( DEWWR, 2009) . An educator takes children developmental areas( social,physical,emotional ,cognitive,language ) and also children’s connections to the natural world into consideration, the holistic approach/ integrated approach is also triggered by children interest,skills and learning capabilities,this is evident in the early years learning framework ( learning outcome 4 - children are confident and involved learners). The integrated/ Holistic curriculum provide the means for children to delve into big scene based on changes in technological advancement .this approach takes children’s families, communities, culture ,friendships into consideration, The educators see learning as a companionable exercise. Play provides opportunities for children to learn as they discover,create,improvise and imagine (deewr,2009) this approach is called “Active Learning” or “play based learning” which focuses on children’s hands on experiences and taking part in small group experiences. This approach approves of children interest,relationships, friendships ,through this educators can scaffold on children’s learning experiences, As evident in the (learning outcome 1 children have a strong sense of well-being). Play based curriculum enables children to draw on their family and community experiences and funds of knowledge ( TEXT BOOK), play based approach also facilitates the “ Guided Learning Approach” in which educators direct the activities of the children through small group experiences. The Inclusive Approach and the Multicultural and multilingual Approach are incontestable and noticeable in the Eylf which roots for cultural competence to the curriculum. The inclusive approach to the curriculum children’ varying cultures and programs orchestrate the Curriculum, Approximately over 400 languages are spoken in Australia including nearly 200 Aboriginal and Torres Strait languages (TEXT BOOK) . However the mono cultural approach to the curriculum talks about how educators can draws experiences from children’s cultural backgrounds into the curriculum planning.
