Assignment Task
Submitting your exam questions
- When you are happy with all three answers, please submit your completed questions via the relevant Turnitin Submission boxes.
- These will be open for the duration of the exam only. ? There will be six Turnitin submission boxes marked Question 1 - 6. Please upload each question to the correct box. Question 1 to Question 1, Question 2 to Question 2 etc.
- Write each answer a separate Word document, marking clearly which question it relates to. Insert images as required. Upload this document to the Turnitin box in Word or PDF format.
- Write the question number and your Student ID number (not your name) clearly at the start of each answer. Save your file as the question number and your Student ID number. E.g. ‘Question 5 S123456’.
- We request this to enable multiple marking of files by individual staff and for individual feedback to be provided.
- Turnitin submission will closed at the end of the exam period, which is 15.30.
- Please note that you will not receive a similarity report. The similarity report will only be visible to the lecturers.
Assessment Criteria
- It is important that you read each question CAREFULLY
- The exam will be open book, meaning that you can consult lecture notes and other sources.
- We accept that you may choose to prepare and write ‘general’ answers in advance (as no doubt you would do prior to any exam), but any prepared answer should be adapted and structured so that it answers the specific question. The relevance will be one of the main criteria used to assess the quality of your answer.
- Evidence of additional reading will also be assessed and you may want to do this by including a few key references (in the same way you might have done in a standard exam essay, e.g. “Smith et al (2014) said that…”) if you wish, but clearly we would not expect your answer to be referenced in the same way as you would when writing in coursework essay. In other words, answer as you would normally in an exam.
- Plagiarism and collusion. All work submitted should be yours and yours alone. Do not copy directly from any source (lecture slides, books, online resources, fellow students) and you should provide answers in your own words. Don't try to develop your answers with another student or discuss with or show your answers to anyone else. The standard university regulations regarding plagiarism will still apply.
- ALL answers will be checked for plagiarism using the Turnitin submission similarity tool.
