Background
NESCOM is an IT training company specialising in short training courses for all aspects of IT development. They have been growing steadily over the last 20 years and have now reached the point where their present premises can no longer accommodate their needs.
They have recently purchased new premises and see this as the perfect opportunity to completely redesign their network infrastructure. In addition they would like to upgrade their current base operating system (Microsoft 7) and server (Windows 2008 server) however they would also like to maintain some degree of backward compatibility.

Scenario

The new premises consist of a large 6 storey office block measuring approximately 90 metres by 50 metres. At the moment each floor is divided into 20 rooms (see ground floor layout for example, Fig 1.0) however it is possible that this could be changed if necessary. It is intended that the top floor will be for office staff managers and trainers.
The main servers are also expected to be installed on this floor.
The following groups of workers and rooms have been identified as being required:

• 18 Training rooms each of which consists of 28 computers and 2 printers
• 15 Offices each containing 14 computers and 2 printers
• 10 Training staff rooms each containing 10 staff and 2 printers
• 15 Managerial offices, each containing a manager and personal assistant each with their own computer and printer.
• 2 Server room with 50 servers
• The company would also like to include a wireless network of 500 users, IP phones on all office computers, managers and personal assistants and one per training room.
