The Assignment Task

You are required to write a report on a housing policy. The report should be 3,000 words (10% allowance either way) and should be split in to three sections
Students must complete the following criteria

• Briefly describe how housing policy, in general, in Scotland has developed since the early 20th century
• Assess one main strategic national housing policy for Scotland, for example, "Housing to 2040" or the previous “Homes Fit for the 21st Century" and explain its core values. Describe the background to the development of this strategic policy and identify the key players and participants in the process. Describe how these players and participants have shaped and influenced this strategic policy.
• Outline housing policy direction in Scotland since devolution in 1999 in respect of either homelessness or tenant participation.
• Using your local knowledge, evaluate the impact of your chosen Government Policy on housing practice in your organisation and one other social landlord.
• Explain how your selected policy has been implemented by your housing organisation in comparison to the other social landlord and provide examples to illustrate your findings.
• When evaluating your chosen policy, you need to explain how homelessness policy or tenant participation policy has impacted on the work of your housing organisation. When considering this, you should also take into account the equality and diversity requirements of your clients and tenants.
• Please ensure that your work is clearly referenced using an appropriate style of referencing. This is really important as plagiarism is treated very seriously and can result in a failure grade or, in extreme cases exclusion from the course.
