This project assessment is worth 25% of your coursework grades. In this group project you will work in teams of 2 to 4 as decided by the course instructor. In your groups, select a company or an organization that you can talk to and access to some data you need for the project.
The deliverables of this project will be a report and a presentation or poster with Lessons learned and Q&A – You and your instructor will mutually decide whether you prepare a presentation or a poster.

Project Report - 12.5% of coursework grades

1. Business Case: In this section you are required to do thefollowing:
1.1. Choose any company/organization. When evaluating different alternatives you should consider choosing an option from business areas were you sustain a strong level of understanding/expertise. You should also aim for choosing an organization that requires the exchange of data with external entities (e.g. partners, suppliers etc.)
1.2. Create a detailed company profile. The company profile must include the following sections:
• Business Details (e.g. Company Name, Established Date, location(s))
• Company Basics (e.g. Description of the business, product descriptions, Description of services, number of employees, market shares, annual sales etc.) 
• Explain and identify current and future integration needs and challenges.
2. System Architecture (as per IEEE Std 1471-2000 Recommended Practice):
2.1. Select a system in your organization for which you will document its architecture. Briefly describe the major components of the system.
2.2. State the mission of the system.
2.3. Provide a description of its environment (such as other systems interconnected with your system of choice)
2.4. List the stakeholders of the selected system.
2.5. Create and associate a list of concerns with each stakeholder. 
2.6. Your architectural description shall contain one of more views.
2.7. Use the Zachman framework to describe the architecture in terms of several perspectives like What, How, Where, Who, When and Whyfactors.
2.8. Create one or more architectural models corresponding to the identified views and conforming to the viewpoints.
3. Process Modelling and Performance Analysis.
3.1. Process Identification and description.  Based on the description of the company you have previously described identify a process that requires some integration. The scope of this integration should be limited to processes that span 3-4 business units/lanes and involve at least 4 actors.Some example of processes are: 
• Sales Order Entry
• Shipping and Freight claims
• Disaster recovery procedures
• Bill of materials etc.
The processes must include an integration scenario i.e. some collaboration/exchange of information with an entity external to the organization. The process you have identified mustbe accompanied by a detailed narrative description.
3.2. Business Process Modelling Notation (BPMN). For the process you have identified in the previous section draw a process model using BPMN. Use a professional BPMN drawing tool to design the processes. 
3.3. Process Performance Management (BPM): For each process implement time and cost analysis calculate the process cycle time and then estimate the cost of the process (i.e. Annual volume of awards, FTE and labor cost)
3.4. Process Evaluation Summary. After you have completed the performance evaluation for each process create a summary that outlines your findings. In particular expose possible problems you have identified and suggest probable improvements.

4. Service Oriented Architecture: Carefully examine the process model (BPMN diagram) and suggest a service oriented architecture that can be used to expose the activities/tasks included in the process as web services. For each service identified in the diagram provide detailed narrative description (i.e. title, purpose and methods included in the service).

5. Writing & Structure. You are required to deliver a professional academic document that considers the followingaspects:
5.1. Use proper HCT format, including APA citations andreferencing
5.2. Consider proper academic writing skills demonstrated (language, grammar, spelling,etc.)
5.3. The legibility (readability) throughout all section (parts) of the project need to bemaintained.
