Answer the following four questions.
1. The RiceY ield.csv file on the Blackboard provides data on Rice Yield (tons/hectare) under treatment from a range of new Fertilizers, as well as a standard control, across a selection of paddy fields.
(a) Load the data into R, and provide a graphical display to demonstrate rice yield variation across the fertilizers, and provide an initial interpretation.
(b) Set up the null and alternative hypotheses and carry out a one way ANOVA to determine if there are any significant effects of fertilizer on yield.
(c) Check the assumptions of your analysis and comment on the results.
(d) Implement comparison analyses for the following questions.

(i) Are any fertilizer treatments more beneficial than the control?

(ii) Is GranditX fertilizer the best?

(e) For all significance levels analysed, explicitly implement

(i) Bonferonni and

(ii) Holm correction for multiple testing. Comment on any differences to the conclusions for each case, and any differences observed between (i) and (ii).

2. The data in the file V enomY ield.csv contains the venom yield (mg) from some King Cobras. The Age (m) of the snakes are also known, which are also grouped into an AgeGroup variable (young or old). The Genotype of a gene (thought to be related to venom yield) is also known for each snake (AA, Aa or aa). You may presume the assumptions for ANOVAs and ANCOVAs are satisfied in the following questions.

(a) Visualize the data and interpret what you see.
(b) Run a two way ANOVA to look for significant effects, using AgeGroup and Genotype as factors, and provide an interpretation of what you discover.
(c) Run an ANCOVA using Genotype factor and Age covariate to look for significant effects, and provide an interpretation of what you discover.
