Introduction
IT Project Solutions (IPS) is a Consulting firm providing online IT Business Service solutions to its customers.
Recently, IPS was commissioned by Bryan Allen, the account manager for ‘Sports Company’ (i.e. a ‘clicks and mortar’ business type which includes a website and a physical store), to build an online Customer Relationship Management and Supply Chain Management (CRMSCM) computer system.
The CEO for ‘Sports Company’, Mary Stragorn, has directed Bryan Allen, to initiate and oversee a project, in-which IPS will design and build the CRM-SCM system, with the business objective to replace the old system, and be more of an online presence, benefits of which are faster transactions, more efficient interactions with customers and suppliers.
Mary has assigned her Customer Service Manager, Janice Sage, to work closely with Bryan, to manage user system requirements and inputs, assisting with the feasibility part of the project.

Both Janice and Bryan, will be working closely with the project delivery specialist and product manager for IPS, Michael Joran and Nathan Smith respectively. Nathan will be responsible for product delivery, and Michael responsible for delivering the project to completion within scope, cost, time and quality targets. Michael’s role on the project will be project manager, while Nathan will manage the Product delivery team, responsible for producing the final ‘system’ product.

To ensure effective Project Assurance, the responsibility to monitor all aspects of the project's performance and products independently of the Project Manager, Mary has
assigned one of her own people, (Annie, who’s position with Sports Company is Desktop Manager), the role of change manager on the project.
With the commencement of the project, and under advice from IPS, Mary has made the decision to assign a formal project board, three resources, each representing the interest from the Business, User and Product Supply perspective, accountable for all project decisions.

Current Environment and Issues:
At present, there are many issues with the ‘Sports Company’ computing system, which inefficiently integrates disparate internal warehouse management systems, and the web ‘sales’ front end system, which was not originally designed for efficient technical scalability, which is limiting business interactions and growth
