health framework. This includes clinical assessment of alcohol and drug issues and identification of co-occurring disorders. Students will demonstrate understanding of
current legislative requirements. A range of case studies will be used to explore risk assessment and risk management perspectives.

Intended Learning Outcomes
On completion of this unit, you will be able to:

1. Demonstrate knowledge and skill in the provision of evidence-based bio- psychosocial assessment of alcohol and other drug use

2. Identify risks associated with alcohol and other drug use and manage in accordance with the best available evidence
3. Demonstrate an understanding of current legislative requirements related to assessment and management of addictive disorders

Task Description

This assessment is divided into Part A and Part B as follows. Both Part A and Part B of Assessment 1 need to be completed.
Part A
For the purpose of this assessment you will be placed into an online group to explore the following concept. Harms (2015), explores the ‘use of self’ or the way you apply
yourself therapeutically with the client, as fundamental to affecting outcomes.
