You are required to write a research paper on a contemporary IT issue such as cybercrime, digital currency, data security, computer ethics and law, data privacy, digital marketing, etc. A list of past research topics, used by the Staffordshire U. CIIT module is attached in the Appendix. You can select one of them as your research topic or set your own one.

Research Report Requirements:
In your research report, the following areas should be included:
1) Identify and rationalize the need for a research project in your topic area, defining the aims and objectives whilst considering any hypothesis
2) Search and evaluate the available literature in your chosen topic area.
3) Utilize and justify a range of research methods to identify, select and review a wide range of fully cited information sources to support the subject matter, both historical and current.
4) Conduct appropriate primary and/or secondary research to support and discuss the need for your project.
5) Determine and discuss possible options, scenarios, and solutions.
6) Make conclusions and clear recommendations for the progress and approach for the future realization of the solution with the provision of a timeline
7) Supporting evidence and arguments should be provided in addressing the above requirements. They should be related to relevant websites and theories in textbooks and academic journals. Cite at least ten key theories/models/concepts/references in your chosen topic area.

Learning Outcomes:
On completion of the coursework, the student should be able to:
1) Demonstrate a systematic understanding of an IT issue or problem in order to answer a contemporary research question and advance own knowledge. This is to include an appropriate critical evaluation of any social, legal or ethical implications.
2) Communicate, at an appropriate level, an area of contemporary investigation using appropriate research and referencing skills.
3) Demonstrate a critical understanding of the commercial and economic implications of the researched IT issue or problem.
4) Demonstrate an understanding of where computational modeling could be or is used in the field of study.
