It is an undeniable reality in todays world that fake drugs are an increasing danger to people worldwide, as these fake medicines frequently refuse to deliver medication as expected, leading to adverse effects, including death. They affect not only patients but also the medication and healthcare practitioners credibility. As a consequence, the remedy to prevent these falsified medications from causing more damage for people is essential. Counterfeit medications are among the worlds most profitable sectors of the fraudulent trade. Drugs suppliers battle to find a way to combat counterfeit medications consistently. Every year they lose trillions of dollars in revenue and invest massive amounts on anti-counterfeit initiatives. The following are the main reasons for the large gaps in the supply chain for prescription products which leads to counterfeit drugs:
•The supply chain infrastructure is disorganised and opaque.
•There are numerous mediators, which make traceability of sources impossible.
•Different firms using various systems which lead to multiple solutions.
The present architecture of point-to-point services cannot keep information in sync through the supply chain of healthcare, which eventually raises the possibility of counterfeit, diverted or otherwise illegal goods. All these issues can be solved using Blockchain technology. Our aim is to Design a traceability and identification mechanism for the supply chain of fake medicines through blockchain that provides transparency of drugs from manufacturer to end-user and identifies drug’s production process to solve drug safety. This study would be directed at addressing the following research questions with this in mind.
How supply chain infrastructure can be made organized and transparent using Blockchain?
How to prevent counterfeit medicine using Blockchain technology?
How to monitor and trace the drug process from manufacturer to supplier?
How to prevent data from tampering?
Rationale
The blockchain helps monitor the whole drug supply chain. Any new transaction added to a block is permanent and time-stamped, which means it is impossible to tamper with the records. Businesses may either provide a transparent blockchain or a private one. Companies may provide a public ledger exchanged by the parties engaged in the manufacture and delivery of these blockchains' substance. Furthermore, depending on the
knowledge exchange contract between the two sides, access is limited. We can get the full trail of the medication via blockchain.

1. Raising Trust and Accountability
Pharmaceutical products can be tracked by suppliers and consumers through the whole supply chain. Manufacturers will be able to see that the target consumer will comfortably obtain the goods.
2. Real-time visibility
The producer will record a medication on the blockchain and log, track, and authenticate the drugs at every point of their journey. As the possession of drugs shifts
physically, their ownership is simultaneously shifted to the blockchain network. Drug makers will still be able to visit their products, from production to packaging and from packaging firms to distributors.
3. Added exposure and privacy protection
Blockchain is the best commercial technology to guarantee originality of a piece of data. It makes private data from an individual proprietary and free of any damaging
data security. The products are verifiable inside a pharmaceutical supply chain
structure without any knowledge about the proprietary strategies of the producer.
Blockchain based distributed ledger system
This thesis implements blockchains for safe control of the supply chain using Hyperledger fabric. A blockchain-based new drug supply chain system, in which users, suppliers, retailers, marketers, Pharmacies, hospitals and clinics in the pharmaceutical supply network are being used to store and exchange information across the blockchain network reliability, can control and track the drug supply mechanism for the resolution of falsification issues. The framework offers an easy to use Online interface to administer and monitor medications. Also, for web application access to the blockchain network, we can use the Hyperledger computer REST API. In the proposed approach, transaction requests are checked and authenticated by specifying rules on access control policies and history. This work uses Couch-DB to store a
great deal of transaction records, which is the best choice in the blockchain network to remove the data replication issue and provide independent storage for each node.
Conclusion
The potential for illegal medication and general health illnesses are based up on the course obtained by drug manufacturers and the Government together expecting that will kill millions of individuals. With private drug firms protecting their particular market reputation and politicians trying to underplay the threat, the false threat of medication wont ever be scrapped. There's also a necessity to gather medication manufacturers along with the government for the benefit of medication users which is also the duty of drug makers. Besides, new techniques have been introduced to make it easier for patients to find legal and safe medication sources.
