Guidance on data analysis
Please consider the following aspects when exploring the dataset:
1. It is important to emphasize that there is not a single correct answer to the assignment. The data set involves many different dimensions for you to explore, and some aspects and dimensions of the data are likely to be more useful than others. Therefore, it is important that you systematically explore the different variables in the dataset before starting your assignment.
2. To facilitate your analysis and insights, consider potential problems that could drive low morale across the workforce. Asking questions like “are there differences across departments or job roles for key factors that may drive low job satisfaction?” “What are the business implications of the key factors identified?” or, “based on the factors identified, what are the recommendations you could provide for Globex to improve their business practices?”.
3. Although you may create many graphs for your assessment (e.g., histograms to better understand the data), you only want to include figures that support your main findings. These graphs should summarize the relationships that you are reporting on or analyzing.
4. Also, look for potential outliers in the dataset. What can we infer from these outliers? Do these outliers represent people who may be at risk for leaving the organization? Should the outliers be included in the analysis of the data? Any decisions made about including or excluding outliers should be justified in the report.
5. Remember that your conclusions should be well supported by your data exploration and visualizations. You should also outline any key assumptions in your data-driven conclusions and acknowledge limitations, if any.
