Assignment Objective 

Students are encouraged to evaluate the need of Accounting and Finance Information System.  Understanding on how an ERP Application works within the organization. Research based where students  work independently providing evidence into the topic and providing critical evaluation of the topic. 

Assignment Tasks 

Task 1 - Submit a work proposal for this assignment on or before 05/11/2020 (23:59) which must include: 

• Understanding of deliverables – a detail description of deliverables.  
• General overview of proposed plan - initial understanding of solution of task2 to task 4.  ? Timeline for completion of the given tasks. 
•  Credibility of the research sources is established. 

The work proposal must be submitted in a word file through the link available in Moodle. 

Task 2 - Carefully read the provided research paper “Ballantine, J. and Stray, S. (1998) "Financial Appraisal  and the IS/IT Investment Decision Making Process". Journal of Information Technology 13 (1), 3-14". Critically evaluate the need of Financial Information System in an Organization.  

Task 3 - Carefully read the provided research paper “Grabski, S., Leech, S. and Schmidt, P. (2011) "A Review  of ERP Research: A Future Agenda for Accounting Information Systems". Journal of Information Systems  25 (1), 37-78". Critically evaluate the benefits to organizations in implementation of the General Ledger  in SAP systems. 

Task 4 - Carefully read the provided research paper “Grabski, S., Leech, S. and Sangster, A. (2009) "The  Impact of ERP Systems on Management Accountants and Their Work". Management Accounting In  Enterprise Resource Planning Systems 103-115". Critically evaluate the successful implementation of ERP  Systems ensures organizational success. 

Rules & Regulations: 

• Students are encouraged to seek formative feedback on the complete assignment draft. However,  this feedback will be given only ONCE on complete draft if it is submitted at least 10 days before  the final submission date of that assignment. 
• The words limit for the essay is 1200 (approximately). For each task, students are expected to  write approximately 350-400 words.
