Assignment Task

Task Description
You will build a "golf" game.  We provide "cooper-golf" as an example to guide you but you may be creative within the restrictions we describe here.  Please check the two associated grading rubrics for precise details of how marking will occur.  One rubric will be completed by your marker without you present (the "Offline" grading rubric) and the other will be completed during your viva grading session (the "Viva" grading rubric).  Note: the attached video is an important part of the description and this page may receive updates to clarify certain points up to 2 weeks before the due date.  Nothing will change, but things might get clarified.

Features Required
We've added a note saying the week by which you will have learned the material to tackle this feature.
Size: Week 2
The screen must be 1280 pixels wide and 960 pixels high OR (for those working with a small laptop screen) 952 pixels wide and 714
pixels high.
Grass and Tee: Week 2
There must be a large area at the top of the screen which represents the playfield and a smaller area below that represents the "launch zone".  Both must be the full width of the window.  Note: loops and randomness are used to make the playfield in cooper-golf, you don't need to do this for this part, but you will need to in a later part.
Player: Week 3
0:00 / 0:41
Some representation of the player will move back and forth across the launch zone.  In cooper-golf we use an arrow, but you can use your imagination to make something else.
Note:
You may not use images (i.e. PImage, sprites, png, jpg, gif) for your player.  They must be made from Processing shapes (ellipse, circle, rect, arc, etc).
Launching: Week 4
When the user presses any key, the player stops moving and goes into "launch mode".  In launch mode, the power of the hit is determined.  It starts off low and grows over time until full power after 4 seconds (note: it must be 4 seconds when Processing is running at the default frame rate of 60 frames per second).  You must have some way of indicating clearly the power is increasing.  In coopergolf the colour of the player intensifies as the power increases.
