Problem Statement Gaz Oakley is the founder of Veggie Farmers’ Union (VFU). His business is based in Sydney to provide quality organic food delivered to customers in and around Sydney area. He is passionate about providing maximum benefits for the farmers as well as other local businesses who choose to advertise their weekly produce through his business. For this assignment, you are being tasked with analysing the needs of many stakeholders and coming up with requirements for a system called the “VFU System” (VFUS)***. This system will aim to provide a way for farmers to advertise their weekly produce and customers to purchase their veggies. You have been tasked with going through the initial proposal described below and detailing some features and processes that VFUS would need to provide.
An extract from the proposal: Australian Farmers who are interested in selling their produce can register to VFUS. In order to register for a VFUS Farmer account, they would need to register their details. A VFU Manager will cross-check if the farmer has a valid ABN by using the Government ABN look-up Server. Once the ABN is verified (by getting an acknowledgement back from the ABN look-up Server), farmers are provided with credentials to login. Every week, farmers will have to send a list of products. Included in that list for each product would be things like name, description, price and quantity on hand (if they choose to advertise that week). A VFU Admin will create a product listing with all of the products sent by all farmers. This will send an automated email to the Farmers which goes through a VFU email server. The VFU Admin will also be able to manage other operations such as editing the product listing for the week (by adding, updating or deleting products from the listing for the week). The VFU Admin may choose to send an email for updating the product listing. The VFUS Admin can also create a number of pre-defined mystery boxes with a combination of veggies for customers who don’t want to customise the contents of their order. All the product listings are made available between Wednesday midnight to Friday morning. VFU is also a big supporter of local shops who sell other items such as nuts, seeds, breads, etc. Local shops also go through the same process of registration as farmers. However, they wouldn’t be able to do the weekly listing of products. When they sign-up, they send a list of their products with details; the only updates that they are allowed to do is the quantity on hand of the products they have chosen to sell. Otherwise, they will have to send a request to manage any of their product listings.
The VFU Admin handles the request by updating their products which will be confirmed by an email. Any sign-up/account creation will send an email through the VFU email server. Customers can create an account on VFUS. Customers can choose to either 1) create their own veggie box for the week by adding the products from the product listing, or 2) choose to add one of the pre-made mystery boxes to their cart. When placing an order, orders have to be pre-paid in advance going through an external Bank system to process the payment. Orders can be picked up from certain pre-defined pick-up points or delivered by a VFU Delivery Person. VFUS allows the Delivery Person to be able to change the status of an order to ‘delivered’. This will send an email to the customer that the box has been dropped off. Customers can raise a dispute to let the Union know there was a problem with their order. The dispute is looked at by a VFU Admin and is sorted out by one or many VFUS Admin staff. VFU have three types of employees. There is a VFU Manager, who overlooks payroll for the staff and account registrations. There are also VFU Admin who take care of requests and in provide online-customer support using a third-party Chat system. The VFU Delivery Person is responsible for dropping off the shipments which are assigned to them by the VFU Manager.

Task 2: Requirements elicitation
Q2) List 2 requirements gathering techniques that you would use to find out more about the problem.
Explain how you would use this technique to gather information for requirements provided in the case study.
Task 3: Requirements specification
Q3) Write 2 Epics and 5 user stories under each of the Epic.
Q4) Write 5 functional requirements for the proposed system for different actors.
Q5) Write 5 non-functional requirements for the proposed system (include the measures / limitations as part of the requirement, not just the heading) .
Task 4: Diagrams for different system perspectives
Q6) Draw a Context Diagram (Level 0 DFD) for VFUS. Please note it can exclude the data from the new features you are adding to Q7.
Q7) Draw a complete Use Case Diagram for VFUS based on the problem statement and extract. Also: You need to create a use case for an actor of your choice and add that to your diagram. Please add few sentences underneath the diagram explaining the newly added use case.
Q8) Write 2 use case descriptions for any of the use cases from Q7 (one newly added and another from the problem statement). Please note your use case description must have a reasonable number of steps and exceptions since they are worth 10 marks each.
