Highlights
Therapeutic approaches are generally recognized as different techniques as well as methods that are incorporated by mental health professionals in order to assist individuals, so
that they can cope with their psychological, behavioural as well as emotional issues. One of the interesting aspects in this particular context is that these approaches are grounded on diverse
philosophies and theories, which are pertinent with human behaviour, and furnish a framework for addressing and making mental health issues quite intelligible in nature. Two of the most
commonly incorporated therapeutic approaches are known as cognitive behavioural therapy as well as existential therapy (Dutta et al. 2019). Existential therapy is generally aligned with a
humanistic approach that concentrates upon assisting individuals in finding purpose and meaning in their life. Contrary to CBT, which is absolutely goal oriented in nature. Not only it seeks to
eradicate negative thought patterns, but at the same time incorporate drastic change in terms of demeanour among the subject.
