The ACS hosts many industry?related events to provide members with an opportunity to learn about current and future ICT innovations and changes which have a direct influence within ICT. It is important to understand that all PY students must attend a minimum of one (1) registered ACS Event and accrue a minimum of 6 CP hours. The 6 CP Hours may be completed in one registered ACS event (such as an ACS conference), or over multiple events. Half?day and full?day events that have more than one key note speaker generally have more CP hours attached to them. Please refer to the ACS website for specific details regarding available CP hours for each registered event. As an ACS member, you are welcome to attend as many ACS events as you’d like during your program.

To attend a registered ACS Event, you MUST:
1. Receive your ACS Membership Details (via email).
2. Find an ACS event with at least 1 CP hour (certified professional development hour).
3. Pre?register for the event via the ACS Events website.
4. Dress professionally and behave in a professional and ethical manner.
5. Attend the entire event (Sign?in and out as directed by event staff).
6. Complete any event feedback surveys via email.

Write Three Event Reports
PY students are required to write three (3) event reports based on the ACS event(s) you attended. This is an assessment requirement for the Professional Environments online course which is undertaken concurrently with your internship placement.
